Ford Models Recognized for Best Value in 2025 Cars.com Affordability Report

Ford made an impression in the 2025 Cars.com Affordability Report: Best Value New Cars, with three models earning accolades for exceptional value. 

The Cars.com Affordability Report is a great resource for new car shoppers navigating the quickly changing auto market. The report looks at vehicles across key segments based on comprehensive criteria, including purchase price, standard safety and technology features, fuel economy, and projected one-year fuel costs.

Ford’s recognized models deliver an impressive balance of affordability and premium features, helping consumers get the most for their money. 

Now, let’s meet the 2025 Cars.com Best Value new Ford Vehicles that won their respective categories:

• Compact SUV: 2025 Ford Escape
• Compact pickup truck: 2025 Ford Maverick (XL Hybrid FWD)
• Full-size pickup truck:  2025 Ford F-150 

The Criteria for Best Value New Car Recognition 

The Cars.com survey found 71% of Americans have changed their spending habits in the last year, with 76% of respondents reporting that they’re spending less. Cars.com’s Affordability Report aims to identify cars with the best value so you get the most bang for your buck, both upfront and down the line, with lower ownership and annual fuel costs.  

Cars.com compared hundreds of models and thousands of configurations to find the models that give you the most value. To make the list, vehicles must come equipped with or offer a specific set of core features: 

• Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Blind-spot monitoring 
• Forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking (including pedestrian detection)
• Brake assist
• Lane departure warning
• Automatic transmission 

EVs must have a minimum estimated range of 280 miles to be considered for the Best Value list.

The team identified the lowest-cost trim level or package configuration that included all the required core features and then estimated annual fuel or charging costs based on EPA data. Additionally, only models priced at or below the average for their segment were considered. 

While factors like warranty coverage, truck seating capacity, and fuel grade requirements didn’t impact rankings, they were noted as essential considerations for long-term ownership.
