With three rows of seating, it’s easy to load the entire family into the Explorer. With second-row captain’s chairs, there is seating for six. Opt for a second-row bench seat and you’ll have room for up to seven.

Whether you need cargo space for sports equipment, luggage, or groceries, the Explorer has you covered. With all three rows of seating upright, you’ll have 18.2 cubic feet of cargo room. Fold down the third row to get 47.9 cubic feet or fold both rear rows to get a whopping 87.8 cubic feet. And with the PowerFold® function on the third row, you can fold the seats down with just the push of a button.

Stay comfortable with first-row heated seats, a 10-way power driver’s seat, and a 4-way power passenger seat. Depending on the trim level you choose, you’ll have cloth or Miko® faux suede upholstery. Premium leather seating is available on the Platinum trim with the Lux Leather package.

Cutting-Edge Technology 

The 2025 Explorer is the first Ford to come with the Ford Digital Experience, a software system that allows you to access Google and Amazon apps, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto through compatible devices. When your vehicle is parked, you can even stream videos from YouTube and other providers, browse the internet, and play games via Google Play.

All of this is done on a 13.2-inch LCD touchscreen. There’s also a 12.3-inch digital cluster so the driver always has the most important information right in their line of sight. Additional standard tech features include a Wi-Fi® hot spot and eight USB ports so you’re always charged and connected.

Convenience and Comfort Features

The newly improved Explorer offers high-quality materials, such as premium upholstery and updated soft-touch surfaces. The front seats are designed with ergonomics in mind, offering excellent support and multiple adjustment options to ensure a comfortable ride. Remote Start System (Key Fob) is standard. 

• Heated and Ventilated: Heated front seats are standard and ventilated seats are available to keep you comfortable on those hot summer days. A heated steering wheel is also standard!
• Multi-Contour: These seats contain air cushions in the back and bottom that support your legs and back. You have the freedom to customize how much air is in the chambers, allowing you to have more or less support where you need it.
• Active Motion Massage: These seats create a subtle rolling motion across your legs and back, working tension away while you drive. This feature is standard on the ST and Platinum trims. 
• Power Liftgate: For maximum convenience, open and close the liftgate with just the push of a button. Loading and unloading your cargo has never been easier.

You can also customize your interior with seven ambient lighting options: Ice Blue, Soft Blue, Red, Orange, Green, Blue, and Purple. This feature is standard on Platinum and ST and available on ST-Line.

A Powertrain Option For Every Driver 

With multiple engine options to suit different driving needs, the 2025 Explorer provides the perfect balance of power and fuel economy. And thanks to the improved suspension and handling, you’ll experience a smoother ride. 

The standard model has a 2.3L EcoBoost® engine that delivers 300 horsepower. If you want more power, there’s a 3.0L EcoBoost® V6 engine available, which generates an impressive 400 horsepower.

Looking for a more eco-friendly vehicle? The hybrid model features a 3.3L hybrid engine that combines excellent fuel efficiency with plenty of power. This option is perfect for those who want to reduce their environmental impact and save on fuel costs without sacrificing performance.

With its available intelligent four-wheel-drive system, the Explorer is ready to tackle different terrains and weather conditions. The Terrain Management System allows you to choose from multiple driving modes to optimize performance based on the environment.
