To maximize your towing capacity in the Maverick, it’s the EcoBoost® engine you need. It can tow up to 2,000 pounds standardly, but add the available 4K Tow Package, and you’ll have the muscle to tow up to 4,000 pounds when properly equipped.

Like the EcoBoost® engine, the full hybrid engine trailers up to 2,000 pounds standardly when properly equipped. So, hitch up a jet ski or even a small cargo trailer and make moves in your Maverick! If you want that 4,000-pound towing capacity, though, you’ll have to forgo the hybrid engine.

What Is Included in the Tow Package?

Exclusively available for the 2.0L EcoBoost® engine, the 4K Tow Package transforms this truck into a true towing machine. As we’ve already noted, it doubles the towing capacity, so your next adventure can be twice as thrilling!

How does it accomplish such a feat? The package adds more robust cooling for the engine and transmission, so these crucial mechanisms can work harder without overheating.

The drive ratio also gets upgraded to a lower, more aggressive 3.81. The standard for the AWD EcoBoost® engine, by comparison, is 3.63. A lower (numerically higher) drive ratio provides more low-speed wheel torque, so you can get your truck and trailer moving with less throttle!
